    trebor:
Why don't we just NOT speculate about anything coming for Monday/Tuesday!  We can keep talking about it hitting Cincinnati or Lexington all we want, but the fact is, no one knows at this point.  It's still too far off.  Some of us are already depressed because this first storm is hitting primarily to the north, and all the talk of next week's storm possibly nailing Lexington just makes it that much worse.  So let's just wait until more accurate data comes in before we start unnecessarily building up everyone's hopes.

Wow!  Trebor seriously might have problems!  Man you are the most negative person I've know of a forum.

Ya a little extreme.  These forums are for fun and forecasting and making bold calls that TV Mets will not do.  There is no need to be negative, it is getting a little old.

Who is depressed of the first storm?  It hasnt even started yet, so let everyone else be excited and keep your debbie downer comments to yourself.

For what it's worth, I wasn't referring only to myself in that post.  Have you read the recent posts, and new signature, of pclukas??  I'm not the only one who posts negatively, but you guys sure as hell like to dog ME alone for doing it.

And if I might say so, it gets just as old reading fantasy forecasts from you guys which only serve to unnecessarily mislead people by making them think something will happen when you don't even know if it will or not.  At least I'm a realist.

I don't think I miss lead people, I simply state what I am seeing in the models. And that is what this forum is all about. I will say there does seem to be a bit of wishcasting that goes on but that is all just a part of the fun and games

Trebor, I'll grant you this, you do keep our feet on the ground, and provide a good laugh once and a while. You do also get too much blame for being a downer, and that isn't right either.

Now, let's just everybody take a deep breath and relax. There is snow on the way and I know you don't want to ruin it with bad thoughts.

Re: Monday night-tuesday storm Feb 8-9

I know you're not TRYING to mislead people, Nick.  For what it's worth, I'm trying to type this while watching TV, and sometimes my thoughts don't come out right when I'm distracted.  I just mean that when people read "wishcasts" and fantasy forecasts, they can sometimes take them to heart...as if they are valid forecasts.  When they get their hopes built up based on those kinds of wishcasts, and they bust, they can get depressed about it.  It has happened to me in the past, and is one of the reasons I'm so skeptical now about getting snow.

BTW...I do appreciate your support.  You're obviously a nice person.

THAT'S IT! THAT'S WHY TREBOR IS SO NEGATIVE! HE WATCHES TELEVISION WHILE HE'S WRITING! SEE WHAT THE TV DOES TO YOUR MIND? I'm usually listening to i-tunes while writing these posts but music definitely didn't have anything to do with my momentary "Trebor Syndrome" earlier! I'm looking at how D.C. snow forecasts have been low each of their last two storms (a.k.a. they got much more than what was originally forecast) and that this storm not only is going to pound D.C. again but has alot of moisture! I feel like the official forecast, for the amount of moisture available, is DEGRADING! I have had outbursts like this before but I've gotten back in line once again! WHEW!

NAM and GFS still seem to be holding on to 7-8 inches of snow with very little if anything else. Are you guys seeing anything different?

My sister in law lives 30 miles south of Annapolis, MD.  She got 20.8 inches in December, 4 inches earlier this week and the current forecast is for 18-24.  She can go years without a good storm.  She is so close to the coast it is often rain.  This is historic where she is.

    You're calling me a tree?

    A tall tree...?

Hey, that means I stand out above all the others!

No, I'm not conceited.  Honestly.  I don't like myself that much.

Max Lucado can be inspiring.  I have one of his books somewhere.  Thanks for the link.

Re: Monday night-tuesday storm Feb 8-9

Storm Mon/Tuesday looks to be another 3 to 6 inches if the ration is going to be 15 to 1 which it looks like it is.
PS: Trebor we all like you, just quit being so negative.  You were negative about the first storm and it looks like we are going to get over 8" with it.

Let's get through the storm today and tomorrow and then this storm will get my undivided attention.

That's what I said before....we need to stop speculating about next week's storm, because we don't know what is going to happen.  The next thing I know, I'm getting jumped on for being negative.

Re: Monday night-tuesday storm Feb 8-9

I just looked at the 12z GFS and it looks like a big one!!!  Its putting down over 8" mon/tues and thats a ratio of 10 to 1 and it could be more like 12 to 1.  If so we are looking at 12" as of now!!  Stay tuned for this one boys and girls!!
