    Chihuahuas

I have two chihuahuas and let me tell you their personalities are the best! I am a dog person and I have encountered several breeds over the years. I was not planning on getting a chihuahua ever but at my local shelter in 2005 they had a chihuahua for adoption. The shelter got him and few others from a puppy mill. Anyways, when my little Sam came out he was scared and shaking but I felt this instant connection with him. He didn't know how to walk on a leash nor was he potty trained. After about a week he was finally potty trained and was walking on a leash. Never have I seen even a puppy (Sam was 2.5 years old at the time) learn that quickly! Sam became more confident in himself and even today he is sooo proud! Well in 2006 we adopted our 2nd chihuahua Gracie. She was a pup and instantly Sam and Gracie bonded. She also is very smart and has a personality to match. She too is very affectionate and loving. I never would have seen myself adopting chihuahua's until Sept 2005 when I met my Sammy. If you are conteplating whether to adopt a chihuahua I would reccommend it if you want a lap dog who is not only smart, but who is very affectionate and loyal! If you have questions about chihuahuas from a personal standpoint please do not hesitate to ask me!

    Re: Chihuahuas

Your Chihuahuas sound very similar in both personality and intelligence to my pug. I love her so much! I've had her for 2 years, but I had never been a "dog person" before her. I'm definitely one now, though. I cannot imagine life without her now that I have her. She's so sweet, smart, loving, and gentle. I have a 5 year old brother who torments her, haha. Not really, but she's great with kids. I've never seen her come anywhere close to showing any signs of aggression. In fact, thinking of her showing aggression makes me laugh a little bit because I can't even picture what that would look like. I know they're ugly at first, but they grow on you so fast. I think she's the most adorable thing in the world with her big brown eyes :)
