The initial "wall cloud" has passed southwest Fairfield. Low clouds, no rain, and lots of lightning

Are you absolutely certain it was a wall cloud?

Nothing against you or anything but I find it hard to believe that there was a wall cloud in the area. if there was we probably would have had some tornado warnings.

Can you describe what you were seeing in more detail. Low clouds don't necessarily mean a wall cloud.

Wall clouds was the wrong description hence the "". Low level clouds with lightning above. No biggie, my bad.

Maybe it wasn't a wall cloud, but it sure looked ominous out in Tri-County around 9:00 PM.  The sun had just set and the sky was pink and gray and black.  There were some really weird cloud formations that looked like some of the tornadic clouds you see on the Weather Channel. No severe weather though, just some rain and a lot of lightening!!!

It's okay. Probably "scud clouds". They are low hanging clouds that don't rotate.

Scud clouds!  That's the word I was trying to think of last night.  Around 8:30/9:00pm last night (Thurs. night) we had some strange looking clouds coming in right in front of the rain.

Speaking of clouds there was an article I think on AOL.com about some weird clouds someone took a picture of back in 2006.  I wish I had the link, anyone help me out?

Thanks wxenthus, and yes, those are some strange looking clouds.  I don't think I'd be standing on the 11th floor of a building if I saw something like that.
