Is it going to rain today or not?  I've heard forecasts that it would be rainy all day today, with upwards of 1.5" by tonight...and so far it's pretty much been zilch.  Just some light drops here and there.

Keep in mind, I'm in West Chester where it usually doesn't do much of anything.  So maybe it has already poured buckets in Indiana, Cincinnati and NKY.  I just want to know if I might see anything more up here because I was considering getting out and about, but don't feel like lugging around an umbrella with me if you don't think it's going to rain up here.

Trebor, I have to agree with you.  Today's forecast was butchered, but at least all the stations were consistent.  We barely got enough rain to keep the roads damp for about an hour for the entire day here in SE Warren county...so where everyone got the 1.5" I'd love to know.  I'm sure a lot of Sunday plans were messed up because the fear of getting "dumped or poured" on all day.  Sigh...any idea how far below normal we are for the year in precip?

I have to admit, I really haven't paid much attention to the forecasts with today's rainfall, so I couldn't tell you how much we were supposed to get, or who said what.  For the 4 PM climate summary at CVG, they picked up 0.19", but I"m sure they've gotten much more since then.  Radar estimates have a wide variety around the tri state.  Any where from about 0.10" in our northern counties to near 1.5" in our far southern counties. 

Also as of the 4 PM climate data, we are 2.40" below normal for the year in precip.  That will need to be updated when the official report comes out at about 1 AM or so.

So much for today and tomorrow being cloudy and rainy as well.  The sun is out big and bright in the blue sky above.  Kinda depressing, actually.  I was looking forward to the cloudy days.  It's bad enough summer is coming up with the heat and humidity that will drive me up a wall.  I should know better than to hope for rain around here.

Clouds will quickly be one the increase once again over the next few hours.  Showers with a few embedded thunderstorms will move in from the west.
