Nightmare turned into dream come true

   A Northern Ky man was almost killed in a motorcycle accident in April of 07 in Owen County, when an SUV came around a blind curve on the wrong side of the road and hit him head on. Little did Kennett Parker know that a year after his wreck, he would become a published author. During the year it took Parker to recover, he started writing his novel called 'Thundering Hearts:The Razor's Edge'. It is a suspense thriller love story about a biker couple from Ky.
Parker wrote the novel, mixing fact with fiction, to show how today's bikers are honest hard working citizens who help out whenever they can, and want no recognition for their numerous kind deeds. Parker also says that the book shows how a couples love and their faith in God, always overcomes evil in the end.
   Parker received an invitation from Senator Damon Thayer of Kentucky last week, inviting him to come to the State Capitol in Frankfort in February, when the lawmakers are back in session. Senator Damon Thayer wants to present Parker with a "SENATE CITATION" honoring Parker for his outstanding accomplishment in becoming a published author, after overcoming his near fatal accident.
   Parker said that his book would be available in November to the public. It will be for sale at Barnes and Noble bookstores, Short "Ts" Cycles in Richwood, The Bike Barn Shop in Dry Ridge, and Cammacks Sporting Arms in Owenton. It will also be available online through Amazon.com.

Redadas con 300 oficiales de inmigración, ruedas de prensa anunciando que las redadas continuaran. Que significa todo esto. Hasta ahora no se han presentado ningún cargo contra la compañía Koch. Este también fue el resultado de las redadas en Fisher Homes, hace ya un tiempo. ¿Son estas campañas publicitarias de ICE? Si el gobierno americano, esta tan en contra de la inmigración ilegal, ¿Por qué tienen un numero de identificación para pagar impuestos (ITIN) sin seguro social? ¿Por qué tienen la información de impuestos disponible en español?

Todo el mundo critica todas las propuestas de reforma inmigratoria. ¿Cómo se puede complacer a todo el mundo en un tema con tantos aspectos? Los republicanos quieren una cosa, los demócratas otra, los inmigrantes otra. Yo en lo personal no veo una solución inmediata. Por una parte, las personas que están aquí ilegalmente pero llevan una vida decente, debería tener la oportunidad de legalizar su situación. Pero también entiendo a los americanos que tienen una legítima preocupación en los millones de personas que entren ilegalmente al país. ¿Se acuerdan cuando vivian en su país de origen? ¿Cómo trataban a los indocumentados en su país?
