I see the way you look at us and read your mind so well. Little brat or no control? It’s really hard to tell. I’ve seen the view from your eyes and thought the same things too. Please don’t judge too quickly, as next I could be you.

                   Have you ever?

Have you ever wished you could hold and receive affection from your child? Have you ever wished your child would look at you the fifth, sixth or seventh time you called his name? Have you ever wished he would call you Momma, Mom or Ma? Have you ever wished your 2 year old would tell you NO? Have you ever pointed to 8 different boxes of cereal to see which box he wants because he can’t tell you? Have you ever wondered why the things he does say, he says over and over? Have you ever been blessed with a smile from ear to ear because you understood what he meant the first time he tried to tell you something? Have you ever let him eat cereal all day long because that’s almost all he’ll eat? Have you fixed pizza ten or more times a week because he’ll eat that too? Have you ever washed that special plate and bowl 2 or 3 times a day because he has to eat off of them? Have you ever had to get up from the table twice in one sitting, to wash his precious hands because they got dirty and he won’t eat until they’re clean? Have you ever let your child wear the same shirt for 3 days in a row, thanking God at least he’s wearing clothes today? Have you ever taken his shoes off and put them back on 6 or 7 times, till they feel just right? Have you ever let him wear those shoes to bed, night after night? Have you ever wondered why he tiptoed all day long and could never sit still? Have you ever let him wear a sock hat all day and to bed because the pressure makes him feel a little better and covering his ears muffles a fraction of the night time noise? Have you ever wondered why out of all the toys he has to play with, he stares at the wheels of the car he rolls back and forth? Have you ever wondered why he doesn’t play? Have you ever had to draw the Wal-Mart star or spark twenty or more times a day? Have you ever had to ask the manager at Wal-Mart for a sign, so you wouldn’t have to draw it all day? Have you ever saw the joy on your child’s face to have that sign? Have you ever had to ask the manager at a restaurant if you could let him sneak a quick look at the kitchen before he’d sit down to eat? Have you ever had to get up and leave a restaurant as soon as your food hits the table? Have you been in the checkout line, with a cart full of groceries, when a major meltdown hits? Have you ever watched people stare at you and your child like you both have the plague? Have you then had to hold your head high and bite your lip for the sake of your child? Have you ever had to convince your pediatrician that something’s just not right? Have you ever had to sit through hours of intensive evaluations, scared of the unknown? Have you ever received the diagnosis of Autism for your child?

Chances are, many of you answered no to those questions and think they are crazy. Truth is, it is crazy and it‘s real. I hold his hand until he falls to sleep each night, sometimes hours on end. I then thank God for the opportunity, to wake up and do it all again. I’m blessed to be part of his journey and wouldn’t change any of him for the world.

Autism is a complex brain disorder that inhibits a person's ability to communicate and develop social relationships, and is often accompanied by behavioral challenges. Autism spectrum disorders are diagnosed in one in 150 children in the United States, affecting four times as many boys as girls. The prevalence of autism has increased tenfold in the last decade. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have called autism a national public health crisis whose cause and cure remain unknown.

One more have you ever and then I’ll let you go, have you ever judged God‘s child, because you didn’t know?

Cincinnati Tea Party

Where's the story? Where's the video?

Why is there nothing about this on your site?

You had a pitiful story about the reporter feeling threatened or whatever, so where's the proof?

I WAS THERE! I'M A DISABLED AMERICAN VETERAN WITH PTSD WHO FINDS IT VERY DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH CROWDS, BUT I DID FEEL NOT THREATENED, DID NOT FEEL OVERWHELMED OR IN ANYWAY DISTURBED BY ANYTHING AT THIS EVENT.

What little coverage you gave in the 11:00 news tonight was overshadowed by the follow up by the reporter.

Why not report the facts instead of your feelings for a change?

I have to admit, your coverage was not as bad as WCPO's reporter, who claims to have been verbally assaulted and spat upon, but strangely their camera must have broken because there's no video of the incident.

You people make me sick!

President Obama!!!

As I read and watch the reactions of people after this historical election, I can’t get over the fact that there are people out there that refuse to see the importance of this event. This does not means that you have to support Obama or become a democrat; what it means, that we should take a second to see the importance of having the first African American as the leader of the United States of America. I cannot understand people like Bill Cunningham going on the air the day after the election and completely ignore the accomplishment of Obama; and actually goes on the air and insult the voters of Ohio and the country. Being on the radio has its responsibilities, and Mr. Cunningham decided to ignore that. He decided to continue to divide the country and promote his racist views. I hope that one day he can realized that more and more people are seeing past his negativity, and are understanding that we can agree to disagree. Obama is not perfect, but he deserves our respect and admiration and specially our support. He is the president Elect, and we cannot declare defeat before he even takes power, if we do that it means that you are hoping for failure, If Obama fails we all fail. I invite all of the people who disagree with the majority of the country, to look beyond the color of the skin and beyond the differences of ideas, and to support our country and our new president. It does not means that we have to leave him along; we should hold him accountable, through the democratic process. Let’s show the world that we truly are the greatest Country of the world.

My how things are changing. Even though we moved away, we still read about it, talk to friends and family who are still there, and are well aware of what's going on. It seems that Simon Leis Jr. has closed the Queensgate facility due to economic reasons, but still manages to squeeze out the few dollars and cents that some of the inmates (at the Hamilton County Justice Center) are counting on for personal grooming products from the commissary!

My son is in the Justice Center and is being framed by 3 individuals (who are NOT being investigated) and all the while, as the days pass (waiting for court date) my son is losing the apartment he worked so hard to get! Because of the system being so backed up and slow, and continuance after continuance, if and when he DOES get released (these 3 individuals have told one person that they will see that my son NEVER gets out!!), he will be homeless!! His blood pressure has skyrocketed (from the stress of worrying) and he can't sleep. If something happens to him, I would think that it would be on the shoulders of the Justice Center. He is being treated for depression, and, understanding how this system works, I would be treated for it too! My husband was a very well respected Police Officer for 20 years, for the City of Cincinnati. I find this appalling that my son is being treated this way.

QUESTION: How can the ones who are REALLY breaking the law go free while the innocent get framed, arrested, and their lives ruined?

Why Hasn't Anyone posted in a While?

No new messages in quite a while.

Test

Just a test to see if this works.

Thanks
Remove Simon Leis

I don't know about many, but for me the reason against voting against the jail tax is the less than ethical behavior of Simon Leis. For him to say that a spending bill was not passed is the reason to lay off police officers doesn't add up to me. For Sherriff Leis to use access and power to attempt to gain support in a way that violates the election rules is absurd, but to take it to the next step and have his friend/judge say there was no problem there shows corruption. Why is it that no one ever runs against this man? If ever there were an election in which someone ran against him I would vote for that individual in a heartbeat. He has been in this position too long, failed this city in so many ways. Most of us forget the riots caused by the racial profiling he permitted. Most of us forget him stuffing paycheck envelopes of city employees with fliers promoting his jail tax. He has not demonstrated fiscal responsibility, and is greatly endangering Hamilton county today. is the best future leader for this nation, not Senator Barak Obama. Our beautiful soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is also would be better at leading our nation in the future after a McCain Presidency than Senator Barak Obama would be in leading our nation in the future starting in January 2009. There are great reasons our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin would be a better future leader than Senator Barak Obama. The greatest reason for our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin's is ideology. Our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is conservative in that she is pro life, marriage, guns, low taxes, low government spending, small government, unintrosive government, traditional and judeo Christian values, Bible reading and prayer in our public schools, and military spending. She is also pro free and private enterprize. Senator Barak Obama is a liberal who is anti every thing that I have described that our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is pro about or for. A second reason that our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is superior is because of experience. As a governor she has two years of executive administrative governing experience that Senator Barak Obama does not have. A final reason that our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin is superior is because of political accomplishments. When our soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin came to office she accomplished 3 major things which are as follows: she showed great leadership in the 3 following areas: government reform, the state budget and the economy, and wise use of natural resources. She reformed government by standing up to the big oil companies by breaking up the monopoly on power and resources. She insisted on competition and basic fairness which ended the control that the oil companies had on the state, and thereby returning control of the state back to the people. She also stood up to the special interest and lobbyist, and produced major ethics reform. She lead well in the state budget by generating a surplus which came about by vetoing a half billion dollars of wasteful spending, ending the abuses of earmark spending by congress, and by getting rid of the private jet, the chef, and the chuffer. Economically under her leadership she brought about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history. She also suspended the state fuel tax, and when oil and gas prices went up dramatically, and filled up the state treasury, she sent a large share of that revenue back where it belonged - directly to the people of Alaska . On natural resources she has shown great leadership by beginning a nearly forty billion dollar natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence. When the last section of the pipeline is laid and its valves are opened, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart. Senator Barak Obama has done nothing, so please vote John McCain for President and give to our beautiful soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin the opportunity that she deserves leading the nation into the future after a John McCain presidency. When our soon to be Vice President does lead the nation as President after a John McCain presidency, she will be the greatest President that we have ever had. Finally she is smarter than Senator Barak Obama

Thank You

My son has been in Iraq for 7 months now. He left behind his Wife and son to fight for his country. No one here in the states can even begin to imagine what our soldiers go through fighting for the United States. The thing that keeps them going, in the darkness of fear, is the love and support from there families back home. My son has Me and his Father, Brother and sisters backing him one hundred percent. Sending care packages and letters. Every chance we got to see him on web cam it feels like Christmas. However the support that meant the most was the support of his wife. Living in a nightmare, so far away from home, her love and support meant the most. He new in his heart it was hard for her to. He felt there love for each other and his future in the United States army, would serve them well in the long run. My son also felt it was important for his son someday to look up to his dad and be proud. My son felt he had all the right reasons to leave his family to serve his country. His family felt it was honorable. The pain my son feels now, is as painful as being shot. He has been shot right in the heart. Not from an enemy but from someone he trusted, ( His Wife.) My son is not only supporting his country and fighting for it, he now is fighting for his life back home that is crumbling to the ground, and he can’t save it. My son has loved his wife supported her, paid for everything for her and his son. She never worked or even attempted to work. He paid there rent every month in a home he didn’t even get to live in. He paid all the bills in the marriage. He took very good care of them both. His family took her under our wings and helped her and gave her all the support any caring a family could give. My son had to find out all the way in Iraq that his wife cheated on him with another man right in there home. Beer bottles all over there house. He then gets to learn that the home he has been paying for has been trashed and she has moved out. My son receives a dear john e-mail from his wife requesting a divorce. Her reason “ She is Lonely” All my son has looked forward to is coming home to see his wife and son. He now realizes he has no home to come home to. Only the large amount of money that he is going to be charged due to all the damages she has caused in the apartment. Devastated and feeling every emotion a person could feel with a broken heart, and the realization everything back home has fallen apart, he gets another blast. She has put an EPO out on him. Saying she is fearful for his life. Fearful for her life….Come on my son is in Iraq for heaven sakes. Now she is damaging his career. Now I would be the type that if I heard this story I would say to myself he had to of done something for her to go t o such lengths. This is not true. The reason for that is because I am the one who walked in and caught her with another man. What is so sad is my young grandson is caught in the cross fires. I am a mother and I feel my sons pain. I also feel the pain for my grandson. I feel at times it is too much to bare. I know that many soldiers who leave and fight for there country go through this. I feel as a mother more needs to be done for soldiers and their families, when they get deployed. Family screening and counseling needs to be done for 6 months before they are shipped to Iraq. A community support group should be in place for the wives left behind. My son is going to come home with the scars from Iraq and a life he created gone. How much pain is one person suppose to bear when all he did is love his wife and his country. Somthing needs to be done the Army has a 75% devorce rate to spouces cheating and using our soldiers. I think that the government needs to do somthing to help out our soldiers in times like these. Not pronouncing words correctly shows your bias. Plus, it's just professional.
I would really appreciate it if in the future words that are 'ethnic' sounding be pronounced correctly. Does anyone know if this poor woman is still in the morgue? I was talking to someone in British Columbia; she lives in the area where the feet keep washing up. They also had a body turn up this week. I was telling her that we have this happen here a few times a year in the river (as far as bodies), and I see it happened again tonight...

But anyway, I was telling her about that woman, and I tried a search of the Local 12 site, and could only find a story about it from LAST year. I know the coroner released the photos of her, but I've not seen anything about it since. Does anyone know if this case is still active?

Why can't I find a story, when I seen it on the news?

I have had this issue for months now. I took a picture of it, but without enhancing it, it looks like a little dot in the sky..LOL! It was at cruising altitude and there was a jet flying ahead of it. After looking around on the internet last night, I think the jet I saw may have been one for refueling it. Just a guess on that; but it did seem strange to see a jet relatively close to it like that.
~Lisa
Cincinnati transit system

A new transit system is being considered at the moment, but apparently only one type is being discussed - cars on rails. Installing rails is expensive, the result is a road that is dangerous to vehicles with narrow tires and pedestrians - and it is inflexible. The paths are literally set in stone (or at least black top). There are three other styles that ought to be considered, the rubber tired bus with a pantograph collection from overhead cables, the rubber tired bus with battery power and quick change battery trailer at the rear, and a composite bus with pantograph and small capacity battery to allow for switching from one cable route to another.

The bus with pantograph has a long history of success prior to the era of cheap oil and large mass-produced commercial vehicles running with internal combustion engines. They are cheap to maintain, quiet, with high acceleration and they do not alter the road surface. In Britain they slowly died away because their main components were not made in anything like the quantities of gas fueled vehicles. Eventually the company making spares died as a result of reducing numbers and the long life of the components. I believe the same was true in the USA.

Battery powered vehicles also have a reasonable history and motors and batteries have improved their efficiency over the past ten years or so (and promise to continue doing so). They are probably not as efficient in their use of electricity as the AC motor and pantograph, but they can be routed anywhere within the range of the batteries and the depots for charged battery .

Combining both seems an obvious answer, but I do not know whether it has been tried yet. The only advantage that rail has over rubber tired traction is a higher tractive efficiency - but it is not, I believe, a significant advantage.

Before Cincinnati begins tearing up road surfaces to install rails, or concrete 'guides' I think that the merits and availability of all systems, both now and in the near future, should be thoroughly investigated by the city's engineers.

Laurie Penman (mechanical engineer)
Delta Airlines

I was curious, since Cincinnati is a hub for Delta Airlines, what kind of complaints/compliments anyone has for Delta. I myself have only complaints, and if anyone is interested, I would be willing to elaborate.
