• Re: Winter temps?

Most months have been above normal in rainfall. A few though have been below normal. Currently we are 2.86'' above normal for the year in rainfall. Think back to June 25 where 2.65'' of rain fell that day from one or two lone t'storms. There is your surplus right there.James

  • Re: Winter temps?

Nice to see The Stormboard may begin to get active just in time for the winter season.. Right now, I wouldn't read much into the long range models. With the pattern we've been stuck in for about a year now, the models have had a very difficult time depicting certain events and locking in on it.James

  • Re: 20 Years Ago - October 20, 1989

Just to clarify something. The 20 year anniversary actually began on Oct 19. We picked up 5.0'' of snow that day with an additional 0.9'' on the 20th. I remember that day very well. I remember waking up to tree limbs falling all over the place early Thursday morning. Power was out at the house until around 10 PM that ...

  • Re: a few snowflakes?

Not quite. Lows will be in the 40s and highs will be in the 60's. Earlier model runs had us much cooler than this by early next week, but for now it appears the colder air will hold off just a little longer. Stay tuned though...James

  • Re: cool down

60s and 70s looks to be the extent of the cool down for now. Have to keep an eye on it though because this is the same cool down that was supposed to be here this week. We will have to see if Monday/Tuesday next week will be the day for the cool down.James

  • Re: Bad weather approaching

The front is still well to our west as of 8:45 PM. Showers and storms are redeveloping out ahead of the cold front and should be in overnight. Some storms could still be strong until we can get the front through the area, which will be sometime tomorrow morning.James
